Brian Conner

Chief Operating Officer

I enjoy every day the business of managing a business.

It is wonderful to be able to pursue not only your passion but also where your gifts lead you. I can look back to teachers and professors from grade school through my Masters Program who have helped in my personal development as an effective business leader. I am fortunate to have worked in three separate industries so far in my career:  Automotive, Specialty Packaging, and Information Technology. Each position and industry added skills and experience that helped me in the next stage. During my decade with Ford as a Marketing Manager and Trainer I traveled nationally nearly every week. I loved meeting so many people from different places around the country and seeing firsthand just how similar and different we all are. In Specialty Packaging I learned that the smallest details matter.

Today, I still get a thrill from being able to see a new employee going to work at a new position. It reminds me how positive it is to be a small part of all that a new position means to a family joining the Select Resources Team. I find it a blessing working for a company that really does put others first and tries hard every day to live our firm’s corporate Mission Statement, it just encourages me. I continue to be involved in leadership through serving my Church and have been giving back as an adjunct Business / Finance professor at a local college.
